Visiting AGNSW

Location: The Art Gallery of NSW is situated in The Domain, a short walk from Circular Quay through the beautiful Royal Botanic Gardens. It is also close to the historic Finger Wharf, home to several renowned restaurants.

Admission: General admission to the Art Gallery of NSW and many of its exhibitions is free. Some special exhibitions and events may have an entry fee.

Operating Hours: The gallery is open daily from 10 am to 5 pm. On Wednesdays, it stays open until 10 pm for Art After Hours.

Getting There

By Public Transport:

  • Train: The nearest train station is St James Station, a 10-minute walk through The Domain. Town Hall Station is also nearby.
  • Bus: Several bus routes stop near the gallery. The nearest stops are on Art Gallery Road and College Street.
  • Ferry: Take a ferry to Circular Quay and enjoy a scenic 15-minute walk through the Royal Botanic Gardens to the gallery.
